About Catechesis of the Good Shepherd
- The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is a Christian formation program for children between the ages of 3 through kindergarten. The principal goal of this program is to facilitate the child’s relationship with God through community and worship rather than academic study. Framed by the Montessori principles of education, the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd program utilizes rich sensory materials and various activities to encourage children to encounter Christ and His love in a personal way. The adult catechist's role is to prepare the space for the children so that they can respond to this relationship, which was first proclaimed to them through Jesus the Good Shepherd. - Session Times & Meeting Dates
  
  All sessions for Catechesis of the Good Shepherd will take place in the St. Edward House (the White Building) in a space called an Atrium or a Sacred Place. When the Church was first growing, the Atrium was an area where catechumens gathered to be formed in the faith before they entered the church to participate in the full Liturgy. Likewise, our Atrium is a place and environment for children to draw near to God and enjoy being in His presence.
  Mrs. Mary Paolicelli will be the primary adult catechist. She will be assisted by other adult and teenage volunteers throughout the year.
  Children should be dropped off and picked up at the St. Edward's House (White Building).
  
  There are two sessions offered concurrently during the following Sunday Mass times:
  Session 1: 9:00 A.M. - 10:00 A.M.
  Session 2: 11:00 A.M. - 12:00 P.M.
  
  There is a limited space of 12 children per session time.
